Overview
International Year One (UTP Stage II): Commerce is equivalent to the first year of Toronto Metropolitan University’s Bachelor of Commerce degree.
Upon the successful completion of International Year One (UTP Stage II), you’ll begin the second year of your degree at TMU, where you’ll have access to industry experts, an optional co-op program, case competitions and networking events to strengthen and put your skills to work in professional environments. Study in the heart of Canada’s business district with faculty committed to ground breaking teaching strategies that combine theory and practice.

All businesses in today’s marketplace, whether they recognize it or not, are affected by events taking place globally. In this major you will acquire the managerial skills and cultural understanding required to function effectively in the new global business environment.
Prepare to join one of the largest sectors in Canada and the world: the constantly evolving hospitality and tourism industry. This program combines experiential learning, including an optional co-op, 1,000 hours of work experience, case study analyses and on-site food management opportunities, with industry-related research and one-on-one career support. Lead the retail evolution as a buyer, an aspiring entrepreneur, a shopper insights analyst and more. Join Canada’s first Retail Management BComm specializing in traditional and digital retail functions. Participate in experiential learning such as field-based projects and case competitions. Connect with industry executives through Retail Week and student-led events. Complete a paid internship or co-op to turn theory into practice. Take advantage of travel study tours and student exchanges to broaden your real-world retails knowledge.

Upon successful completion of the International Year One (UTP Stage II): Commerce, including achieving a 2.67 CGPA for Hospitality and Tourism Management or Retail Management majors, or 2.8 CGPA for the rest of the majors listed above, you will transfer into the Bachelor of Commerce program at Toronto Metropolitan University with 10.0 credits (one year) toward your degree.
